Your calendar is probably booking up by the minute as we dig our heels into the Holidays! No doubt you will be attending a few gatherings and probably hosting too! Well don’t you worry, I have your new go to party app! Behold my Meat and Cheese Board Bites! All the components and flavors of your traditional cheese and meat board in one perfect bite! Aptly named huh? I’m so clever!
I created these last year but am just getting around to sharing now. I know, very selfish of me. I entered these into the Pillsbury Bake-off contest last year. I didn’t win. I was robbed!! Ha-ha. Anyway, I don’t typically tout my recipes as quick and easy. I am not your 27-minute meal gal. My recipes aren’t difficult, but there are steps involved and sometimes they take more than 27 minutes! Any who, these are 20-minute bites all in! So there take that 27-minute meals!
So, the rules of the competition where it had to be less than 8 ingredients or something like that and not take over 30 minutes to cook. Obvi, you had to use a Pillsbury product. So, I came up with these little dreams. They really are a great party appetizer that take no time at all and are easy as pie to whip up (pie isn’t that easy, so not sure where that saying came from, my bites are easy though, so easier than pie). 🙂 I also couldn’t share the recipe until after the contest was over.
Only 5 ingredients! Pillsbury Crescent Dough, apricot preserve (or any preserve you like), sharp white cheddar (or cheese of choice), prosciutto, Mike’s Hot Honey (or regular honey). Seriously simple!
Rolled out dough and biscuit cutter to create your rounds.
They only take 10 minutes to assemble and only 10 minutes to bake! These can even be prepared and stored in the fridge covered in plastic wrap for a few hours before you bake. This helps make your hosting day much easier! Just pop them in the oven 15 minutes before your guests arrive and bada bing bada boom, you have the best meat and cheese board bites your guests will love!
Don’t skimp on that hot honey goodness!
Well the contest is over, and I didn’t win. 🙁 But there is a silver lining! You all win with this recipe! Your guests will love them! They will go like hot cakes (I get that one).
Simple, yet sophisticated, delicious appetizers for all your party needs!
Happy Hosting,
Diane
